...Red hot boogie-woogie...the energy that pours from this timeless cut is worth it's weight in ivory... Osoff is a musical chameleon, capable of swinging from rock, pop, funk and fusion, to R&B, gospel, blues and boogie..." - Greg Rule, Keyboard Magazine

Smoothjazz.com review (May, 2004)

"From New England comes this dynamic keyboardist, with an exciting project that covers all the musical bases. From rock to pop to blues to boogie-woogie to Smooth Jazz

Dave Osoff has been touring and performing for well over 15 years, and it's time now for his talents to be exposed to the world. Check out 'Even Now (I Still Think of You),' a melodic ballad that's definitely got hit potential. Also among our favorites here at Smoothjazz.com are 'Daybreak,' featuring Erik Ringstad on acoustic guitar, and 'Undercover,' a slow blues piece that ramps up to a stunning peak before it calms back down, and showcases the artist's playing, as well as the fine sax work of Amadee Castenell.

Now we know why Dave gets such high marks around the Boston area. He's at such ease with a variety of material. A 'wicked good' track to check out, though not really Smooth Jazz, is Dave's treatment of the George Harrison-penned 'Savoy Truffle', originally found on the Beatles' White Album. Dave cites Harrison as a lifelong musical and spiritual inspiration, and dedicates his version of the tune to the late guitar legend.
Here's our recommendation: Get a copy of MOSAIC for yourself, and join the folks in New England who are already big fans of this keyboardist's fine work. It won't be long before Dave Osoff becomes a familiar name everywhere else in the world." - Scott O'Brien

TheJazznation.com review

"His special touch on ballads like Even Now (I Think of You), Destiny, Hannah, and Undercover is a story by itself, but when he cuts loose on an up tempo number, it simply astounds to be within earshot...This release was selected as being among the best of 2002 by The Jazz Nation's Executive Staff and at internet station WBLZ-Blazeradio. Another crown jewel among musicians residing in or near the great city of Boston, Massachusetts."

Musicdish Industry E-journal

"The best thing I can say about Dave Osoff's cd is thathe performs the kind of music I listen to on my time off. I don't force myself to enjoy this music, I just let the instrumental jazz and pop roll right over me, as I catch up on email, write another book or do some scanning. As far as I know (and here I'll retire the 'I'), that's the best compliment a reviewer can give.

Dave has been touring and/or performing in the New England area for the last 14 years. And yet this is his debut instrumental album. You wouldn't guess it. The poetry of these 12 lyricless songs is pretty damn cool. To call it jazz alone is to rob its energy from those of you who assume that jazz only means mellow, smooth or smoky. The lite rock/pop element is like the wick of this candle. You can't light it otherwise. Listening to the title track, with that blast of sax and solo moments of electrified organ, well, Dave had better follow up this release with another, if this is truly what he's capable of."

Upbeat and Accessible
This mostly-instrumental set is lightly jazzy, groovy, pleasant to the ears - in a way that reminds me of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, but with a distinctly different sound. It's got danceable, grounded rhythms and some wake-up guitar lines. Adept keyboard work, too!
